Property Tax Issues for Copiers and Printers
We notice that quite often, when a client of ours is incorrectly charged for property tax on a lease agreement and has tried unsuccessfully to have the charges removed, they’ll let the incorrect charges continue to accumulate, paying only the charges that are correct each month.
Another one of the many facets of the lease expiration process is that return instructions for the device will most likely not be released until all the charges are paid in full - including the charges that have been disputed. Until the return instructions are released, you probably won’t be able to coordinate the return of the equipment to the lease company. This is another reason why it’s good to stay on top of the issue until it has been resolved, even if it seems like a never-ending process.
A delay in the release of the return instructions will mean extra lease payments, and if you’ve got replacement equipment on its way, you may end up making double payments while the issue is being resolved.
