Disposing of Used Copying Equipment
How does your organization dispose of copying equipment that is no longer in use? Are storage rooms getting crowded? (Note: I’m referring to equipment that is owned by your organization and not under a lease agreement.)
Here’s an effective way to deal with the issue: The next time you issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for new copying equipment, ask the bidding vendors how much they would charge you to remove old equipment as part of the deal. Many times, we’ve seen vendors agree to provide this service at no additional cost. If the vendor you award the bid does charge for this service, you can build the cost of the disposal of the equipment into your budgets. Either way, you can finally clear out space in the closet.
